Organization Structure
Why Our Alumni Serve
I am volunteering on the Board of Advisors because I see the value-added in the active chapter have access to specialized alumni mentors to learn the tricks of the trade from, gain historical context of developments, and receive advice dealing with chapter operations.
I’m still in the area which allows me to be more active in house infrastructure oversight throughout the year. Since becoming a member I’ve been interested in the maintenance and refurbishment of the house and this position allows me to continue to pursue that interest.
I volunteer on the Alumni Association because I see there is untapped potential in fraters that would like to be more involved in the “Fun” aspects of the organization. I wish to see more local social events allowing our alumni to connect on a more regular basis.
I wanted to be a resource for the Active Chapter; Enabling them to develop and flourish into the the greatest chapter and men that they could become.
This was a natural choice to give back to the Mu Lambda Chapter that has provided much of the foundation for my personal and professional success.
Being a passionate member of the Mu Lambda community, this was a natural role to serve in. I wish to preserve the longevity of the Mu Lambda Chapter by offering my past experiences and support. This starts with building stronger alumni relationships!
To give back to the men that join our fraternity. Create opportunities that will enhance their collegiate and/or alumnus experience. To be a resource to Gitche Gumee province. Serve to the best interest of the the TKEs in Gitche Gumee province.
Board of Advisors
Think about the last time you started a project or new endeavor from scratch. How did you begin? Likely, you sought research and guidance from those who have either previously done something similar or who have expertise or experience helpful to you. You learn tricks of the trade, gain historical context, receive advice, and sometimes gain a friend or mentor. When it comes to managing a fraternity chapter, the same concept applies.
The Board of Advisors is a alumni corporation that oversees the day to day operations of the Active Membership of Tau Kappa Epsilon – Mu Lambda Chapter.
Board of Control
The Board of Control is a alumni corporation that oversees the property and alumni relations. The BOC assumes the responsibility of taking care of the safety, upkeep, inspections, budgeting, repairs, and renovations of real property. And serves as the corporate Board of Directors for the legal entity.
By shifting facility responsibilities to the BOC, parents and alumni should know the facility is maintained to TKE’s high standards so the Active Chapter can focus on studies. The BOC helps the chapter maintain their facilities more proactively, addressing maintenance issues early on and creating a road map for future improvements. Active Members will find having an updated, well-maintained facility not only enhances the TKE experiences, but also helps with recruitment and retention efforts.
Alumni Association
The TKE Mu Lambda Chapter Alumni Association is a committee working together to foster the TKE spirit among alumni of many generations. The purpose of this committee is to host social & networking events with alumni members, create scholarship opportunities for the members of TKE, and plan & execute reunion gatherings. This committee is made up of Alumni, Board of Control members, and Board of Advisor members. The TKE Mu Lambda Alumni Association falls under the jurisdiction of the Board of Control.
